Over three years of extensive work, KM collaborated with Taalman Architecture to design a compound at the peak of Mt. Washington. The two original buildings were extensively renovated and reconfigured, flowing cohesively with a ground up ADU. KM kept the palette minimal, but warm, heavily featuring douglas fir and brick in multiple configurations. Limestone, marble, soapstone and handmade tiles keep the materiality of the buildings organic, elegantly blending with the original wood beams.
The 4-unit, three-building compound is hugged by a flowing deck and native plant landscaping by Terremoto.
